Below is a list of short videos on Digital China that appear on this website, organized by media source.

In February 2023, the Chinese Communist Party issued new guidance on the Digital China strategy. This marked not only a policy milestone but also the beginning of a coordinated propaganda effort aimed at shaping domestic and international perceptions of Digital China, a topic that had received little sustained attention outside China.

As this effort expanded, a new converged media outlet was launched, but the most notable development was the surge of short videos produced across China, often in multiple languages, promoting the Digital China narrative. These videos come from a wide range of sources, and examples from each will be added below as time permits. 🤞

Some of the most engaging videos have emerged from national competitions dedicated to creating short films on the Digital China theme. These contests appear to function as testing grounds for new propaganda narratives using converged media formats. One standout was the 2024 national competition hosted by Bilibili, China’s equivalent of YouTube. Many of those entries will be included below.
