Starting in January 2026, I began integrating AI tools into my editing, research, and translation process for new content on this site. I believe in being fully transparent about how these tools help me bring you Digital China content more efficiently.
AI can be useful for drafting assistance, final editing, research support, translation assistance, terminology checks, and final editing. But it does not replace human judgment.
Every item published here reflects my own research priorities, analytical framing, editorial decisions, and final review.
How I Use AI in My Writing
For standard articles, I may use AI tools to support research, organize ideas, improve readability, test wording, and assist with final editing. I find these tools, when carefully used, to be quite helpful. My work is better for it.
However, I want to assure you that a human arrives first and leaves last. Every post is thoroughly reviewed, fact-checked, and edited by me personally to ensure accuracy and a personal touch. That’s most important to me.
How I Use AI for Translations
For translated content, mostly from Chinese-language sources, the process is slightly different. I may use AI tools to assist with initial drafting, terminology research, and comparison of translation options.
I use a variety of tools (both AI and neural machine) for each translation, rotating to stay current on strengths and weaknesses.
I review and refine every translation to ensure the meaning and tone remain faithful to the original intent.
